Take Heed

Take Heed to the Ministry

And say to Archippus, Take heed to the ministry which thou hast received in the Lord, that thou fulfil it.

It is the duty of the children of God to present the Word. Take heed and present it with love.  The Word will not be recieved by all.   Give careful attention that you  follow it out fully and then you may expect the Divine favour and blessing of God.

2 Timothy 4:5 But you, be sober in all things, endure hardship, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry.

Whom Should We Obey

Whom should we obey?

”You are my portion, O LORD; I have promised to obey your words.” -Ps 119:57

When one keeps God’s words, it is a great gain. We have nothing to lose. Nothing less than God can satisfy our soul.

Take the whole world, but give me Jesus. God’s Word will stand true forever. God gives only good things and Christians are the “Apple of His eye”

Deuteronomy 33:9 Who said of his father and his mother, ‘I did not consider them’; And he did not acknowledge his brothers, Nor did he regard his own sons, For they observed Your word, And kept Your covenant.

Psalm 16:5 The LORD is the portion of my inheritance and my cup; You support my lot.

Lamentations 3:24 “The LORD is my portion,” says my soul, “Therefore I have hope in Him.”

WHAT IS LIFE

For the life was manifested, and we have seen it, and bear witness, and shew unto you that eternal life, which was with the Father, and was manifested unto us- 1 John 1:2

Life as we know it:

The time for which something exists or functions:

The property or quality that distinguishes living organisms from dead organisms and inanimate matter, manifested in functions such as metabolism, growth, reproduction, and response to stimuli or adaptation to the environment originating from within the organism.

Life in God:
For the life was manifested, and we have seen it, and bear witness, and shew unto you that eternal life, which was with the Father, and was manifested unto us- 1 John 1:2

Eternal life-Greek, “the life which is eternal.”
The life was seen and shown. Jesus the Son Of God manifested life in the flesh.
This is thesame eternal life, which we shall always enjoy.

John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

God’s Word Is…

God’s Word Is…
Written for our instruction

For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope. (Romans 15:4)

Intended for the use of all people

But now is made manifest, and by the scriptures of the prophets, according to the commandment of the everlasting God, made known to all nations for the obedience of faith: -(Romans 16:26)

Nothing to be taken from, or added to

Ye shall not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall ye diminish ought from it, that ye may keep the commandments of the LORD your God which I command you. -(Deuteronomy 4:2; 12:32)

What thing soever I command you, observe to do it: thou shalt not add thereto, nor diminish from it. -Deuteronomy 12, verse 32
One portion of, to be compared with another

13: Which things also we speak, not in the words which man’s wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual. -(1 Corinthians 2:13)

Favor In God’s Sight

But the Lord was with Joseph and showed him kindness. He granted him favor in the sight of the prison warden. Gal. 1:10

Favor generally means good will, acceptance, and the benefits flowing from these. in older usage it meant also the countenance, hence, appearance. Alternating in English Versions of the Bible with “grace,” it is used chiefly of man, but sometimes also of God

If I find favor in the Lord’s sight He will show me kindness too. If I walk with the Lord as Joseph did, He will show kindness and favor.

God is no respect of person. What He does for one, He will do for another. Bless the Lord, oh my soul! May it be said, that I lived to please God and not men. God is good and will show His loving kindness which is better than life.

For do I now persuade men, or God? Or do I seek to please men? For if I still pleased men, I would not be a bondservant of Christ. -Gal 1:10

A Reason To Be Thankful

“Today upon a bus, I saw a lovely maid with golden hair; I envied her—she seemed so happy, and how I wished I were so fair; When suddenly she rose to leave, I saw her hobble down the aisle; she had one foot and wore a crutch, but as she passed, a smile. Oh God, forgive me when I whine, I have two feet—the world is mine.

“And when I stopped to buy some sweets, the lad who served me had such charm; he seemed to radiate good cheer, his manner was so kind and warm; I said, ‘It’s nice to deal with you, such courtesy I seldom find’; he turned and said, ‘Oh, thank you sir.’ And then I saw that he was blind. Oh, God, forgive me when I whine, I have two eyes, the world is mine.

“Then, when walking down the street, I saw a child with eyes of blue; he stood and watched the others play, it seemed he knew not what to do; I stopped a moment, then I said, ‘Why don’t you join the others, dear?’ He looked ahead without a word, and then I knew he could not hear. Oh God, forgive me when I whine, I have two ears, the world is mine.

“With feet to take me where I’d go; with eyes to see the sunsets glow, with ears to hear what I would know. I am blessed indeed. The world is mine; oh, God, forgive me when I whine.”

IT IS A GOOD THING TO GIVE THANKS UNTO THE LORD, AND TO SING PRAISES UNTO THY NAME, O MOST HIGH:  To shew forth thy lovingkindness in the morning, and thy faithfulness every night. Psalm 92: 1,2

It is almost Thanksgiving Day again in the U S A. A day when friends and family all  will join together in a great day of feasting and family fun. Will they be truly thankful—I mean truly thankful to God for the abundant blessings he has given to those of us who live in free countries.

“Dear God, please give to me a thankful heart—a heart to remember your lovingkindness every morning and your faithfulness every night and help me to realize that your blessings are new every morning and your faithfulness is unto all generations.
