WHAT IS LIFE

For the life was manifested, and we have seen it, and bear witness, and shew unto you that eternal life, which was with the Father, and was manifested unto us- 1 John 1:2

Life as we know it:

The time for which something exists or functions:

The property or quality that distinguishes living organisms from dead organisms and inanimate matter, manifested in functions such as metabolism, growth, reproduction, and response to stimuli or adaptation to the environment originating from within the organism.

Life in God:
For the life was manifested, and we have seen it, and bear witness, and shew unto you that eternal life, which was with the Father, and was manifested unto us- 1 John 1:2

Eternal life-Greek, “the life which is eternal.”
The life was seen and shown. Jesus the Son Of God manifested life in the flesh.
This is thesame eternal life, which we shall always enjoy.

Thanks Unto God

It is a good thing to give thanks unto the LORD, and to sing praises unto thy name, O most High: Psalm 92:1

A very good thing indeed. God is good and worthy to be praised to the ultimate highest.
Give thanks unto Him today. See opportunities during the day to sing praises to God.
The Lord is high and lifted up on His gloriouis throne. He looks down and beholds us.
All the Heavenly host praise Him.  We too should give thanks.
The beasts around God’s throne give glory, honour and thanks to him on the throne
God is to be praised. God Almighty, which art, and was, and art to come
He has great power and reigns forever more.  Give thanks to His Name

My Councelor

I will praise the Lord, who counsels me; even at night, my heart instructs me. –Psalm 16:7

There is a time when we can talk with God undisturbed. In the stillness of the night, Jesus communes with His children. I know from personal experiences.
It is then when in the quietness of night, He gets our attention and can tell me things.

So take heart, Jesus longs to counsel with you. At night when you can’t sleep, try talking to the shepherd. He is waiting to get in touch with His children.

Tell Him all your problems, Tell Him all your concerns. He is listening and will talk to you. Take time to listen and hear His voice.

I will praise the Lord. He talks to me and tells me things I need to know. My heart instructs me.

Discouraged Little Ones

Fathers, provoke not your children to anger, lest they be discouraged.-Colossians 3:21

We must be very careful not to irritate or tease our children, lest they become discouraged. They need no exta and unnecessary pain and sorrow added to their life. We should take special care and not break their spirits. Ephesians 6:4 says: And, ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath: but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.
He that spareth his rod hateth his son: but he that loveth him chasteneth him betimes.

A soft answer turneth away wrath: but grievous words stir up anger.
A wrathful man stirreth up strife: but he that is slow to anger appeaseth strife.

-Proverbs 13:24 -15:1,18

God Is Faithful

So that ye come behind in no gift; waiting for the coming of our Lord
Jesus Christ: Who shall also confirm you unto the end, that ye may be
blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ. God is faithful, by whom
ye were called unto the fellowship of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord. 1
Cor. 1:7-9

As we await the coming of our Lord and Savior, we can have the
spiritual gifts, that is in the Word of God. He said, ” Now concerning
spiritual gifts, brethren, I would not have you ignorant.” 1 Cor. 12:1.
We do not have to lack anything. God gives good gifts to his children.
God is faithful to keep us unto the coming of the Lord. He can and will
keep us from accusations and indictments. He who has called us into
fellowship with His Son, never fails us.

Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you
faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy. Jude 24

Ah Lord God

Jeremiah Prays. Ah Lord God! Behold you have made the heavens and the earth by your great power and outstretched arm. There is nothing too hard for you. Jer. 32: 17

Jeremiah recognizes that God is the one who dwells between the Cherubim in Heaven and He alone is God. He is the one who laid the foundation of the earth. The heavens were the work of His great hand.
God is great with immense power and does whatever He pleases. God’s ways are unsearchable. He neither faints nor is weary. What a great God we serve. His understanding is un-searchable. He gives power to he weary and we need only to wait upon the Lord and renew our strength. With God all things are possible. – Ref. 2 Kings 19: 15 – Psalm 105: 25 – IIsaiah 40:26 – Matthew 19:26

Dancing For God

Let them praise his name in the dance: let them sing praises unto him with the timbrel and harp. -Psalm 149: 3

Miriam danced for God.

Miriam the prophetess, Aaron’s sister, took the timbrel in her hand, and all the women went out after her with timbrels and with dancing.

David danced for God.

David  danced before the LORD with all his might, as he wore a linen ephod. He used his voice, lyre and harp to praise God. A sweet song arose on the hillside as the shepherd boy praised God. It was a sweet sound.

We too can dance for joy to God.

Praise Him with timbrel and dancing; Praise Him with stringed instruments and pipe.

Ref. Exodus 15:20  2 Samuel 6:14  Psalm 81:2 – 150:4

Vessels of Gold

And all king Solomon’s drinking vessels were of gold, and all the vessels of the house of the forest of Lebanon were of pure gold; none were of silver: it was nothing accounted of in the days of Solomon. – 1 Kings 10: 21

Solomon had a great kingdom and increased his wealth. Silver was nothing unusual in his surroundings. That is the way the nature of worldly wealth is.  Plenty of it makes it the less valuable. Then much more should the enjoyment of spiritual riches lessen our esteem of all earthly possessions.
1Kings 10:20 Twelve lions were standing there on the six steps on the one side and on the other; nothing like it was made for any other kingdom.
1 Kings 10:22 For the king had at sea the ships of Tarshish with the ships of Hiram; once every three years the ships of Tarshish came bringing gold and silver, ivory and apes and peacocks.
In Solomon’s greatness, we see the performance of God’s promise. It should encourage us to seek first the righteousness of God’s kingdom. He has great riches and pleasures awaiting for us.
Solomon having tasted all earthly enjoyments, wrote a book, to show the vanity of all worldly things, the vexation of spirit that attends them, and the folly of setting our hearts upon them.  He recommends serious godliness,  which will make us happy that all the wealth and power he was master of, and, through the grace of God, it is within our reach. If gold in abundance, would make silver seem so despicable, shall not wisdom and grace, and the foretastes of heaven, make gold seem much more so?

Born Again

Are you born again? This is one of life’s most important questions. Jesus Christ said, “Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God” (John 3:3).

One who is born again has a special love for disciples of Christ and all people.
He finds no pleasure in things which seem to bring happiness to most people. They love the sinner but hate the sin. One who is born again looks to God’s Word rather than the world for answers. They are overcomers of the world.Their desires are to live a holy life pleasing the Father in Heaven.

One born of God loves God with all their heart. He that is begotten of God keepeth himself’ (I John 5:18).

Have you been born again? To enter into Heaven we must be born again.”Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God” (John 3:3).

Beatitudes

The beatitudes speak volumns for us all. Take a look at God’s Word.

Blessed [are] the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed [are] they that mourn: for they shall be comforted. Blessed [are] the meek: for they shall inherit the earth. Blessed [are] they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled. Blessed [are] the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy. Blessed [are] the pure in heart: for they shall see God. Blessed [are] the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God. Blessed [are] they which are persecuted for righteousness’ sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are ye, when [men] shall revile you, and persecute [you], and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake. Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great [is] your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.

Matthew 5:3-12
