Hill Country of Judea

And fear came on all that dwelled round about them: and all these sayings were noised abroad throughout all the hill country of Juda. Luke 1:39

Over to the South side of Jerusalem Elizabeth receives a visit from Mary. On Mary’s arrival, Elisabeth was conscious of the approach of her who was to be the mother of the great Redeemer.
At the time of the visit she was filled with the Holy Ghost, and declared that Mary and her expected child were most blessed and happy. They were honoured and dear to the Most High God.
Can you only imagine the excitement!

It is very good for those who have the work of grace begun in their souls, to communicate one to another.
Those who see their need of Christ, and  desire  righteousness and life in him, can be  filled with good things.

Friends around us can be abundantly satisfied with the blessings he gives.

He will satisfy the desires of the poor in spirit who long for spiritual blessings.

Joshua 20:7 So they set apart Kedesh in Galilee in the hill country of Naphtali and Shechem in the hill country of Ephraim, and Kiriath-arba (that is, Hebron) in the hill country of Judah.

Joshua 21:11 Thus they gave them Kiriath-arba, Arba being the father of Anak (that is, Hebron), in the hill country of Judah, with its surrounding pasture lands.

Glory to God in the Highest

Glory to God in the highest. I seem to hear the angels sing thier wonderful song that day. As the blessed Son of God lay in a manger.
Hope and cheer to all the world. Glory to God in the highest.

The shepherds adored the little babe and worshipped Him that day. He made known to us the mystery of His will, according to His kind intention which He purposed in Him

So let us always do as the shepherds and angels did that day. Sing praises to God. Glory to God in the highest. BLESSED IS HE WHO COMES IN THE NAME OF THE LORD; Hosanna in the highest!”

Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men. -Luke 2:14

Jesus Saves From Sin

And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins. Matthew 1: 21

Jesus Christ was born and for this cause He came into the world. He loves people and gave His life for all.
Mary brought forth a son and His name is Jesus. A son born into a world of sin and His name is Jesus. He lives today. He is from everlasting to everlasting. He is King of all kings and Lord of lords.

Jesus came into the world to give us eternal life.
Open up your heart today to let Jesus come in and abide with you. He is waiting for you to say “come on in and be Lord of my life”
He will cleanse you, and make you pure. He will be your dearest friend
Let Jesus save you from sin at this special Christmas season.

Christmas Love and Peace

Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful. (Colossians 3:15)

Peace is something we all want and need to live a good life. At this special time of year, we see many who are lonely and in need. Jesus left us peace when He went away. He did not leave us comfortless, but sent the Holy Spirit to be our Comforter. It’s not the kind of peace that the world wants, but the peace of Christ rules in our heart and fills us with love.

Therefore Christ is God. Peace was His legacy to His disciples before He left them  “My peace I give unto you.” Peace is His to give.

Peace follows love (Col 3:14; Eph 4:2, 3).
Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts. The peace of those who are made brethren in Christ and filled with his love. It must reign in the heart, then it will rule in the acts. This is the peace to which Jew, Gentile, and every race is

John 14:27 “Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Do not let your heart be troubled, nor let it be fearful.

Christmas In Bethlehem

Christmas in Bethlehem
And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn. And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid. And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger. And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying, Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.

O Little Town of Bethlehem

Rector Phillips Brooks (1835-1903) of Philadelphia, wrote the words to O Little Town of Bethlehem in 1868, following a pilgrimage to the Holy Land. He was inspired by the view of Bethlehem from the hills of Palestine especially at night time hence the lyrics of O Little Town of Bethlehem. His church organist Lewis Redner (1831-1908) wrote the melody to O Little Town of Bethlehem for the Sunday school children’s choir.

O little town of Bethlehem
How still we see thee lie
Above thy deep and dreamless sleep
The silent stars go by
Yet in thy dark streets shineth
The everlasting Light
The hopes and fears of all the years
Are met in thee tonight

For Christ is born of Mary
And gathered all above
While mortals sleep, the angels keep
Their watch of wondering love
O morning stars together
Proclaim the holy birth
And praises sing to God the King
And Peace to men on earth

How silently, how silently
The wondrous gift is given!
So God imparts to human hearts
The blessings of His heaven.
No ear may his His coming,
But in this world of sin,
Where meek souls will receive him still,
The dear Christ enters in.

O holy Child of Bethlehem
Descend to us, we pray
Cast out our sin and enter in
Be born to us today
We hear the Christmas angels
The great glad tidings tell
O come to us, abide with us
Our Lord Emmanuel

Jesus, Son Of God

A Man of Sorrows, and Acquainted With Grief

Isaiah 53:3 He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not.
4 Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.

Jesus my Saviour, rejected and dispesed. A man of sorrow, yet full of love. He took all our sins and forgive us. Jesus washed us whiter than snow through His precious Blood. He suffered for us and paid the ultimate price on the Cross of Calvary. That is why I love Him so.

Matthew 26:
36 Then cometh Jesus with them unto a place called Gethsemane, and saith unto the disciples, Sit ye here, while I go and pray yonder.
37 And he took with him Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, and began to be sorrowful and very heavy.
38 Then saith he unto them, My soul is exceeding sorrowful, even unto death: tarry ye here, and watch with me.
39 And he went a little farther, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt.

A Shining Light

He was a burning and a shining light: and ye were willing for a season to rejoice in his light. But I have greater witness than that of John: for the works which the Father hath given me to finish, the same works that I do, bear witness of me, that the Father hath sent me. John 5: 35-36

John preached Christ while in his short life on earth. He was”the great light of his day.”  He was inwardly burning with love and zeal, and outwardly shining in all holiness. And it was for a  short time only.
We today have great opportunity to be a shining light. The voice of God, accompanied by the power of the Holy Ghost, can and will lead sinners to conversion of sinners.

2 Samuel 21:17  “You shall not go out again with us to battle, so that you do not extinguish the lamp of Israel.”

Mark 1:5 And all the country of Judea was going out to him, and all the people of Jerusalem; and they were being baptized by him in the Jordan River, confessing their sins.

2 Peter 1:19 So we have the prophetic word made more sure, to which you do well to pay attention as to a lamp shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star arises in your hearts

Perfect Peace

“Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on Thee: because he trusteth in Thee” (Isa. 26:3).

In life we all have our troubles and anxieties. Especially here at the holiday season. When we focus our mind on God, we can have perfect peace. We have everything we need in Christ to give us perfect peace, now and forever.
Thou wilt keep him in peace; in perfect peace, inward peace, outward peace, peace with God, peace of conscience, peace at all times, in all events. Trust in the Lord for that perfect peace,

Isaiah 26:12 LORD, You will establish peace for us, Since You have also performed for us all our works.

Isaiah 27:5 “Or let him rely on My protection, Let him make peace with Me, Let him make peace with Me.”

Isaiah 57:19 Creating the praise of the lips. Peace, peace to him who is far and to him who is near,” Says the LORD, “and I will heal him.”

Isaiah 66:12 For thus says the LORD, “Behold, I extend peace to her like a river, And the glory of the nations like an overflowing stream; And you will be nursed, you will be carried on the hip and fondled on the knees.

In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world” (John 16:33).

Joy and Gladness To The World

Jesus birth brought joy and gladness. A child was born to save the world from their sins.

And you will have joy and gladness, and many will rejoice at his birth.-Luke 1:14

The birth of Jesus would prove to many a joyful event. Many would rejoice and be glad. A Saviour is born to save the world from sin. We have a Heavenly Father who cares for His children. We have a reason to rejoice and be glad today. Jesus birth into the world of sin opened up a better way of life for all mankind, for Jesus came to save His people from sin.

The way of life is above to the wise, that he may depart from hell beneath.
Proverbs 15:24
