The Rich Man

There was a rich man who was dressed in purple and fine linen and lived in luxury every day. At his gate was laid a beggar named Lazarus, covered with sores and longing to eat what fell from the rich man’s table. Even the dogs came and licked his sores. -Luke 16:19-31

The rich man thought he had it made, but failed to see what God had to say. He failed to help those in need. The beggar was carried away by the angels to live in peace and happiness forever more. No more pain, hunger or sorrow. But alas, the rich man sealed his fate while living in pleasure that lasted only for a season. It pays to serve God and then we will be entitled to peace forever more. We will be judged according to the life we live.

By the sweat of your face You will eat bread, Till you return to the ground, Because from it you were taken; For you are dust, And to dust you shall return.” Gen. 3:19

2 Corinthians 5:10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each one may be recompensed for his deeds in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad.

1 John 4:17 By this, love is perfected with us, so that we may have confidence in the day of judgment; because as He is, so also are we in this world.

And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment: Hebrews 9:27

Everybody wants to go to heaven but nobody wants to die

God smiled down on Isaac and gave him fifteen years to go
