A Blessed Marriage

And the third day there was a marriage in Cana of Galilee; and the mother of Jesus was there: And both Jesus was called, and his disciples, to the marriage.  -John 2: 1,2

There was a marriage, and Jesus was called. It is very desirable, when there is a marriage, to have Jesus Christ present at it. Our marriage is blessed when we have his spiritual gracious presence. To have the marriage owned and blessed by him: the marriage is then honourable indeed; and they that marry in the Lord (1Co. 7:39) do not marry without him.

We can invite Christ into our marriage by prayer; that is the messenger that must be sent to heaven for him; and he will come: Thou shalt call, and I will answer. And he will turn the water into wine.

Vessels of Gold

And all king Solomon’s drinking vessels were of gold, and all the vessels of the house of the forest of Lebanon were of pure gold; none were of silver: it was nothing accounted of in the days of Solomon. – 1 Kings 10: 21

Solomon had a great kingdom and increased his wealth. Silver was nothing unusual in his surroundings. That is the way the nature of worldly wealth is.  Plenty of it makes it the less valuable. Then much more should the enjoyment of spiritual riches lessen our esteem of all earthly possessions.
1Kings 10:20 Twelve lions were standing there on the six steps on the one side and on the other; nothing like it was made for any other kingdom.
1 Kings 10:22 For the king had at sea the ships of Tarshish with the ships of Hiram; once every three years the ships of Tarshish came bringing gold and silver, ivory and apes and peacocks.
In Solomon’s greatness, we see the performance of God’s promise. It should encourage us to seek first the righteousness of God’s kingdom. He has great riches and pleasures awaiting for us.
Solomon having tasted all earthly enjoyments, wrote a book, to show the vanity of all worldly things, the vexation of spirit that attends them, and the folly of setting our hearts upon them.  He recommends serious godliness,  which will make us happy that all the wealth and power he was master of, and, through the grace of God, it is within our reach. If gold in abundance, would make silver seem so despicable, shall not wisdom and grace, and the foretastes of heaven, make gold seem much more so?

Born Again

Are you born again? This is one of life’s most important questions. Jesus Christ said, “Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God” (John 3:3).

One who is born again has a special love for disciples of Christ and all people.
He finds no pleasure in things which seem to bring happiness to most people. They love the sinner but hate the sin. One who is born again looks to God’s Word rather than the world for answers. They are overcomers of the world.Their desires are to live a holy life pleasing the Father in Heaven.

One born of God loves God with all their heart. He that is begotten of God keepeth himself’ (I John 5:18).

Have you been born again? To enter into Heaven we must be born again.”Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God” (John 3:3).

Living Waters

A fountain of gardens, a well of living waters, and streams from Lebanon. -Song of Sol. 4:15

I enjoy thinking about the beautiful garden of God. Some day if we live according to the Bible, it can be a reality in our lives. This garden must be tremendously beautiful according to the Bible. It is a garden of choice fruit and pleasures. Living waters will be flowing in the light of the evening from the throne of God. The Lord will be the king over all the earth. No more destruction and Jerusalem is safely inhabited. Abundant life and continuous blessings will flow from the river of life that gives eternal life. The trees will bear fruit in abundance and provide healing for the nations.

During the millennium everyone will know perfect health. The gardens will be full of pleasures yielding fruit every month. No more curse and the leaves will not be consumed. Whosever drinks of the water shall never thirst again, but it shall be a well of water springing up into everlasting life. John 4: 10-15 - Ezekiel 48 It’s going to be wonderful!

Our Affections

“Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. -Colossians 3: 2

   Things Above

All things below are not permanent. Seek those things, which are above, where
Jesus Christ sits on the right hand of God. Above there are treasures that we know very little about.

Build your dreams on things above by laying up treasures in Heaven. When we pray, study God’s Word and live obedient to Him, we lay up treasures above.

Only things of God will last forever. His Kingdom will endure forever. No moths can break through and steel in God’s everlasting kingdom. Many things on earth will decay.

Very many put their trust in riches. Satan is leading them in paths of failure. How hardly shall a rich man enter into the kingdom of God. Let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful

Earthly things do not last Christ, Who is our life, shall appear, and then shall ye also appear with Him in glory. And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the Name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by Him.”

Born Again

You must be born again

It is no wonder then that Jesus declared that each person must be born again of the Spirit of God in order to be translated from the realm of darkness, deception and death into the kingdom of God.

Joh 3:3  Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
Joh 3:4  Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother’s womb, and be born?
Joh 3:5  Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
Joh 3:6  That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.
Joh 3:7  Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.

For God so loved the world,
that he gave his only begotten Son,
that whosoever believeth in him
 should not perish,
 but have everlasting life.

Choose Life

I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live: -Deut. 30:19

Do not forget the things your eyes have seen or let them slip from your heart as long as you live. Teach them to your children and your children’s children. (Deuteronomy 4:9)

A seed shall serve him; it shall be accounted to the Lord for a generation. -Psalm 22:30

For the LORD loveth judgment, and forsaketh not his saints; they are preserved for ever: but the seed of the wicked shall be cut off. -Psalm 37:28

His seed shall be mighty upon earth: the generation of the upright shall be blessed. Psalm 112:2

Though hand join in hand, the wicked shall not be unpunished: but the seed of the righteous shall be delivered. -Proverbs 11:21

Stedfast In God

My heart is steadfast, O God;
I will sing and make music with all my soul.
Awake, harp and lyre!
I will awaken the dawn.
I will praise you, O Lord, among the nations;
I will sing of you among the peoples.
For great is your love, higher than the heavens;
Your faithfulness reaches to the skies.
Be exalted, O God, above the heavens,
and let your glory be over all the earth.

Psalm 108:1-5

Forgiveness

Sometimes it seems almost impossible to forgive someone that has hurt us, but God’s Word says that we must, if we want God to forgive us. Just turning it over to Jesus and letting Him handle it is the best way to deal with it. When we have Jesus thoughts in our heart, we will then forgive. When He dips His pen of love into our hearts, we want to please Him and do as He says, for He is a God of Love. His Spirit all divine will fill our sinful soul and His Love will wipe away all hurts.

Do you need to forgive someone today? Let us not let a lack of forgiveness keep us from serving God. Ask God to give you the desire to forgive and then the ability to do so. Forgiveness is an act of grace that reflects God’s treatment to us. When I forgive, I release God to work directly on the other person.
Then Peter came and said to Him, “Lord, how often shall my brother sin against me and I forgive him? Up to seven times?” Jesus saith unto him, I say not unto thee, Until seven times: but, Until seventy times seven. -Matthew 18:21-22

Peter thought he was being very generous by offering to forgive his brother seven times in one day, but Jesus said he should forgive him 490 times in one day. It would be impossible to have someone sin against you 490 times in one day. Jesus is actually saying that there should be no limit to our forgiveness.

Regardless of how many times one sins against us we have to forgive and confirm our love unto him (2 Cor. 2:6-8).
. . . forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you. Ephesians 4:32

If God expects us to forgive our brother who has trespassed against us times in one day (actually an unlimited number of times), certainly He who is love will do no less with us. He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.1 John. 4:8
“If your brother sins, go and show him his fault in private; if he listens to you, you have won your brother. -Matthew 18:15
