Prayer Before Congress

This is a prayer prayed many years ago.
Our fathers’ God and ours, on the birthday of national independence we confess our dependence upon Thee. Without Thee we are lost in spite of the overwhelming might of our national arms.
We thank Thee for those pilgrims of faith who came hither in their frail barque across mountainous seas and who stepped upon strange shores with the salutation to a new world, “In the Name of God. Amen.” The Nation here established, conceived in liberty and dedicated to the proposition that all men are created equal has acknowledged that Name above every name and reverenced it, has built its altars, reared its temples, and raised its steeples, emblems of a faith that points to the skies and wings its sure and certain way to God. Make that faith of the fathers, we pray, real to us in these tempestuous days. Save us from a freedom of speech so empty that we have nothing worth saying, from a freedom of worship so futile that we have no God to adore, from freedom from want and fear with no creative idea as to how to use our plenty or our security for the redemption of our social order and for the salvation of our own souls. Let all that is low and unworthy in us sink to the depths. Let all that is high and fine in us rise to greet the morn of a new day confident that the best is yet to be. Amen.

Stedfast In God

My heart is steadfast, O God;
I will sing and make music with all my soul.
Awake, harp and lyre!
I will awaken the dawn.
I will praise you, O Lord, among the nations;
I will sing of you among the peoples.
For great is your love, higher than the heavens;
Your faithfulness reaches to the skies.
Be exalted, O God, above the heavens,
and let your glory be over all the earth.

Psalm 108:1-5

Paul’s Prayer

prayhands_1For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, Of whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man; That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God. Ehp. 3: 14-19

When one humbly bows to God in prayer, He hears and answers according to his riches.  We are strengthened with his spirit and Christ dwells in us with love. Who can know the great love of Christ? It is a love that no one can fully apprehend.

QUOTE: The Spirit of prayer makes us so intimate with God that we scarcely pass through an experience before we speak to Him about it, either in supplication, in sighing, in pouring out our woes before Him, in fervent requests, or in thanksgiving and adoration. –O. Hallesby

Keep On Praying

GOD ANSWERS PRAYER!

And shall not God avenge his own elect, which cry day and night unto him, though he bear long with them?  I tell you that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless when the Son of prayer-fingersman cometh, shall he find faith on the earth? –Luke 18: 7, 8

God will surely vindicate his elect, who cry to him day and night. Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall: (2 Peter 1:10). Always pray and do not lose heart.

FOR GOD SO LOVED THE WORLD THAT HE GAVE HIS ONLY BEGOTTEN SON, THAT WHOSOEVER BELIEVETH IN HIM SHOULD NOT PERISH BUT HAVE EVERLASTING LIFE. JOHN 3:16

I Didn’t Hear Nobody Pray

CHORUS
I didn’t hear nobody pray, dear brother
I  didn’t hear nobody pray
I heard the crash on the highway
But, I didn’t hear  nobody pray.

THE WRECK ON THE HIGHWAY
Recorded by Roy Acuff
Written by Dorsey Dixon

[A] Who did you say it was brother?
Who was it fell by the [E] way?
When [A] whiskey and blood run together
Did you hear [E] anyone [A] pray?

CHORUS
I didn’t hear nobody pray, dear brother
I [D] didn’t hear nobody [A] pray
I heard the crash on the highway
But, I didn’t hear [E] nobody [A] pray.

When I heard the crash on the highway
I knew what it was from the start
I went to the scene of destruction
And a picture was stamped on my heart.

There was whiskey and blood all together
Mixed with glass where they lay
Death played her hand in destruction
But I didn’t hear nobody pray.

I wish I could change this sad story
That I am now telling you
But there is no way I can change it
For somebody’s life is now through.

Their soul has been called by the Master
They died in a crash on the way
And I heard the groans of the dying
But, I didn’t hear nobody pray.

PRAYER CHANGES THINGS!

Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:6-7).

“…The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective” (James 5:16).

“And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints” (Ephesians 6:18).

“In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express” (Romans 8:26).

“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness” (1 John 1:9).

Alone On The Mountain

Scripture: And when he had sent them away, he departed into a mountain to pray. Mark 6:46 KJV

What a beautiful story. The Master is in the heavenly mount, interceding for the disciples. He went alone, to pray in the mountain. If He needed it, how much more dowe? He prayed alone to God. We are never less alone than when alone with God.How important is is for us to take time out of our busy schedule to meet God along and pray.

What a privilege to go to God in prayer.The Father is very pleased when we take time to find a quiet solitary place and have fellowship with him.Christ sat an example for us to follow. Can you see the mountain before us? Start climbing. We have precious promise and access to the Throne of God. At this time of year we have so much to thank God for.

Prayer: Dear Father, help me to regularly set aside some private time for you. I diesire special close fellowship with you.

A MARRIAGE BLESSING PRAYER

We thank you, O God, for the Love You have implanted in our hearts. May it always inspire us to be kind in our words, considerate of feeling, and concerned for each other’s needs and wishes. Help us to be understanding and forgiving of human weaknesses and failings. Increase our faith and tcouple-walkingrust in You and may Your Prudence guide our life and love. Bless our Marriage O God, with Peace and Happiness, and make our love fruitful for Your glory and our Joy both here and in eternity.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
There was a wedding in the Bible. John tells us about Jesus being a visitor
1. On the third day a wedding took place at Cana in Galilee. Jesus’ mother was there,
2. Jesus and his disciples had also been invited to the wedding.
3. When the wine was gone, Jesus’ mother said to him, “They have no more wine.”
4. “Dear woman, why do you involve me?” Jesus replied. “My time has not yet come.”
5. His mother said to the servants, “Do whatever he tells you.”
6. Nearby stood six stone water jars, the kind used by the Jews for ceremonial washing, each holding from twenty to thirty gallons.
7. Jesus said to the servants, “Fill the jars with water”; so they filled them to the brim.
8. Then he told them, “Now draw some out and take it to the master of the banquet.” They did so
9. The master of the banquet tasted the water that had been turned into wine. He did not realize where it had come from, though the servants who had drawn the water knew. Then he called the bridegroom aside
10. and said, “Everyone brings out the choice wine first and then the cheaper wine after the guests have had too much to drink; but you have saved the best till now.”
11. This, the first of his miraculous signs, Jesus performed in Cana in Galilee. He thus revealed his glory, and his disciples put their faith in him. -John – 2:1-11
THANKSGIVING BLESSINGS
Happy Thanksgiving to Everyone
Jesus was thankful to the Father for food while on earth. Today on this special day, let us not forget that all blessings come from God. The pilgrims were thankful when they arrived. We too should be thankful.
 And Jesus took the loaves; and when he had given thanks, he distributed to the disciples, and the disciples to them that were set down; and likewise of the fishes as much as they would. -John 6:11
And when he had thus spoken, he took bread, and gave thanks to God in presence of them all: and when he had broken it, he began to eat. -Acts 27:35
Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.  -Phil. 4:6
We are on our way to  a better land so – In everything give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. 1 Thess. 5:18
 It is God’s will that we be thankful.
 Prayer: All glory, honor and praise, belongs to you Lord. Wisdom and Might is yours. It is by your power that we live. I am grateful for all I posses for without You, I would have nothing. I give You thanks today and always
~~Food From His Table~~
Food from the Lamb, is choice
It is indeed a balanced diet
Feeding on His Word, gives strength
To sustain our spiritual life
If we are to grow in Christ
We must eat spiritual food
Serve the Lamb to your family
They will grow up to be strong
